Touch
This collection continues to explore the connection between the form of the amphora throughout history, and the body of the maker.
Clay is often discussed in the context of centuries, with an emphasis on the permanence of form. By leaving my fingerprints in the clay, and my handprints on the glaze, I hope to cause the viewer to consider the role of the body in making. The flesh tones and the semi-organic forms are meant to be reminiscent of human flesh.
