Futuro Lamp

Inspired by the concept of “nourishment” this lamp can provide a gentle glow for a gathering of friends or a meal, and then flawlessly transition to a task lamp with its moveable top, allowing the user to pose and aim the light as they wish.

This prototype was created as a part of a collaborative project centered around the theme of “food/grow/cook/share”. We focused on the dining table as our design space, and the student working with limited space as our user. We utilized raw “pure” and recycled materials such as wood and denim in an effort to convey an eco-conscious message. The lamp is constructed of layers of laser cut wood pieces and tyvek dyed with tea. The internal wiring was done by me.
